Integrated Pop Filter

Philips designed a way to filter out sound distortions like that popping sound that distracts in recordings and which can confuse the best speech recognition software.

The integrated hardware fleece is inserted above and below the microphone capsule. This fleece rebuffs sound distortions when you dictate close into the microphone getting rid of the hiss and pop noise.

Integrated Motion

The Philips SpeechMike Premium Touch gives you control over the device with just the movement of your hand!

The integrated motion sensor detects when it is put on the table, automatically muting the microphone. When it is picked up it automatically un-mutes the microphone. Taking it further, Philips allows you to program custom events with this feature to do things like pause and continue recordings.

Configurable Instruction Key

For those commands that you use on a frequent basis with your speech recognition software, the engineers at Philips designed the "Instruction Key" to be fully configurable. It is located at the top of the control panel.

This key gives the user the ability to personalize the SMP3700 for repetitive and frequent tasks.

Antimicrobial and Fingerprint Resistant Housing

Both the buttons and the surface of the SMP3700 are made of antimicrobial synthetics that fight against a range of microorganisms like bacteria (e.g. pneumococcal bacilli and multiresistant microorganisms such as MRSA), viruses (e.g. HIV, influenza, etc.), fungi (e.g. Aspergillus niger), or algae. The polished pearl metallic surface is also engineered to reduce noise during use.

Touch Sensor for Mouse Functions

The new touch sensor enables the user to fully control and navigate inside all your applications while you do your recordings. So one does not need to switch back-and-forth between a mouse and the microphone.

And because it's a touchpad you don't need to worry about cleaning it like you would with a trackball.
